10 YEARS Guitarist On New CD: '90 Percent Of Everything Is Written And Done'
January 21, 200710 YEARS guitarist Matt Wantland has issued the following update:
"We know we've beeen hiding out, but we have had good reason. We have spent the last two months locked in a room writing the songs that will be our next album. There has been more diversity come out of our efforts than we had expected. There are some of the most melodic songs we have ever done along with some of the heaviest, and we are really excited for you guys to hear them. We start tracking demos tomorrow morning with Travis Wyrick (who was responsible for Kathy, for those of you who don't know) to get all the ideas straight. These will be a two-week process since 90 percent of everything is written and done. After that we will start the recording process in Nashville at Ocean Way Studios and will be doing the drums as well as bass there on tape (yes, we decided to forego the use of the digital tools available in this new age, because we think this way sounds better). Travis Wyrick will be in charge with producing, along with Ryan Williams (who engineered and is greatly responsible for 'The Autumn Effect') and Mike D, who engineers with Wyrick. We do have what we think will be the title of the record, something Jesse [Hasek, vocals] has been kicking around his book of ideas for awhile."
10 YEARS last year made an EP of four acoustic tracks available exclusively through the iTunes online music store. The digital EP includes unplugged versions of the band's first rock radio hit, "Wasteland", as well as their current single, "Through the Iris".
